Monday!? Already!?

Another weekend gone, I know I had a weekend because I saw eggs on toast more than once, my abode is an absolute mess and I seem to have scrawled on post-its and spread them around my room. I found one under my shoe this morning while getting ready for a legitimate job that pays me on time every time, completely unreadable of course (the post-it not the job). I assume most of these sticky things are gig related. Probably some kind of noise artist who makes tunes with a circuit bent shoe horn. Or maybe it’s a to scale workflow chart on world domination. Either way they’re all illegible.

There’s a reason I don’t work Mondays… I think the caffeine educed haze that consumes me and encourages me to sit at my desk and wait to see if Anon breaks the Internet while reading Daid Thorne until I can’t distinguish truth from the jokes or pass out on my keyboard the night before I need to be up at 6am is a bad thing… maybe.

Anyway, some neat stuff came out of the weekend, we’re working on the next epic event of doom and looking into bringing in our all time favorite man ABLE over again mid year, for another round of ground shaking bass lines.

And Harvey Fresh is prepping what’s shaping up to be a pretty darn sexy set for the 11th Feb.

Here’s a choon from Killer Industries.. it’s kind of how I feel right now.

ill.Gates

We’re excited to announce the Phat controller will be playing one night only in Perth!

Broken Technology launched just two months ago. To keep the momentum up we’ve decided to bring over Toronto born, San-Francisco based producer, performer and educator ill.Gates.

Over the past 16 years, he has established a global fan base and a reputation as one of the most dynamic electronic music artists around.

Well known for his works with An-ten-nae, Bassnectar, Datsik, Opiuo and many more. The Phat Controller is in town to share his sounds and skills.

The 11th of Feb see’s him playing alongside some pretty talented locals; Mr. Starks from Broken Shape Collective, Quokka Records’ Harvey Fresh and Broken Technology’s Very own Omi.

Tickets available from Heatseeker $20+ BF Presale or $28 Door.

Gearing up for a new year

2011 has almost come and gone. It’s been a great ride, and we’re gearing up for some exciting new projects, events and releases.

The office is currently chaos as Harvey Fresh is prepping his big release with the newly formed West Aussie Quokka Records. The next step is the launch, set for May 2012.

The Backyard Project has kicked off in style with some of our favourites, and some of our artists jumping in for a set or two. It’s always great to hear the locals that we love and support getting some air play!

We’ll be announcing our next big gig pretty darn soon. And I can tell you, we’re all extremely excited about this one!!!

We’ve got some new projects, partnerships and regular events in the works…. more info to come soon!!!

4 Days to go…

With Just four days to go until we officially launch our selves onto the Electronic world there is still so much to do…

Rusty and I are super excited about the event and only a teeny bit nervous. We’ve scored ourselves some radio coverage -check out monday’s show- and some decent online exposure too!

Our attentions are also turning to Able, who’s showing off his tunes for an exclusive side show on the 15th November.

We were keen to get him in the interview room, but it’s a bit like nailing Jelly to the wall….

We have our very own Killer Industries opening for us, and we’ll be releasing an exclusive with Wordplay magazine shortly!!!

If you haven’t got your tickets yet, now is the time.
You can get them now from here or, you know… risk getting one on the door…

I know which one I’d choose!

Lo-Key fu, Able and Ekko & Sidetrack!

On the 12th of November 2011 Broken Technology will officially launch their new venture in the electronic music scene at The Bakery.

To celebrate they will also be launching Lo-Key Fu’s new sound.

Having stepped back from the stage to work on a completely new format and a fresh approach to his well-known sound, Lo-Key Fuwill be returning to the stage for the first time with a completely live, broken beat set.

Lo-Key Fu has been a significant name in the Perth electronic scene, playing and producing for many years, well known in the breaks scene, he has played some major events including Parklifetwo years in a row, Major BreakBreakfest and many more.

To sweeten the deal Broken Technology is bringing over Melbourne based producer, Able.

Originally from Perth, with three WAMi’s, four Perth Dance Music awards and three releases under his belt Able is a fantastic addition to what’s shaping up to be Perth’s best electronic lineup in years.

Among the lineup is well known Glitch masters, SK mode, Drum and Bass brothers Ekko & Sidetrack and Broken Technology’s very own Drum and Bass producer, Killer Industries.

Introducing Broken Technology

Specialising in unique and dirty Electronic music

The Broken Technology team is made up of two Promoters who recognized how difficult it is to crack the local electronic scene on their own and teamed up to bring their ideas to events across the Metro area.

Their aim: to increase electronic music appreciation rather than the party scene around it by creating events that covers a span of genres featuring quality artists.
